Financial reports and analysis at the heart of the company
With Business Central, finance and business experts can create, maintain, deploy, and view their accounts. It helps you to efficiently design different types of reports beyond traditional reporting limitations.
For auditors or controllers responsible for reporting to the finance department, Business Central includes several reports, tracking functions, and tools. Financial reporting includes support for dimensions, so account segments or dimensions are available out of the box; no other tools or configuration steps are needed.
Reports
Some key financial reports are described in the following table.

4,Detailed Trial BalanceFor selected G/L accounts, shows a detailed trial balance. By setting filters, you can determine which accounts are included in the report. At the end of an accounting period or fiscal year, use this report.
6,Trial BalanceShows the chart of accounts with the balances and the net changes in them. You can run the report at the end of an accounting period or fiscal year, or view a trial balance for selected dimensions.
7,Trial Balance/Previous YearDisplays a trial balance against the previous year figures. You can have a trial balance display for a selection of dimensions. Use this report at the end of an accounting period or fiscal year. The previous year is the same period one calendar year before.
9,Trial Balance/BudgetDisplays a trial balance compared to a budget. For selected dimensions, you can choose to display a trial balance. At the end of a period or fiscal year, use this report
17,Consolidated Trial BalanceDisplays a combined view of two or more companies' general ledger entries. Used to report on the consolidated financial data of more than one company.
18,Consolidated Trial Balance (4)Provides a combined view of G/L entries for two or more companies in a consolidated company. You can display up to four business units as columns in this version of the report. A report on the consolidated financial data of a number of companies.
25,Financial ReportGeneral ledger accounts can be displayed in a different way from the chart of accounts using financial reports. For example, you can use financial reports to report on key figures.
38,Trial Balance by PeriodDisplays opening balances by G/L accounts, movements over a selected monthly/quarterly/yearly period and closing balances.
Note: Allows you to display a P&L with a total for each month.
